Downloadable product files are protected from piracy and unauthorized linking by AShop Secure Download.
Product Files 2 MB And Larger
php.ini limits uploads to files sizes of 2 MB on some hosting services. There is no way to work around the max file size limit of the php.ini file other than convincing the web hosting company to change the setting, which they won't agree to because of security issues.
As a work-around for this limitation:
| 1. | Upload the product file to the ashop/products folder via FTP or your hosting service's file utility program.

| 2. | AShop checks to see if there are any product files that have not been recorded into the database and displays the product filenames for selection in the Add Product or Edit Product window.

| 1. | Choose a file from the "previously uploaded file:" selection box.
|
| 2. | Upon submitting the Add or Edit Product form, AShop will rename the product file and record the original filename into the database.

Update Notification & Delivery
The update feature uploads a file and emails a notice to each customer who has purchased the product. The update notice includes a link and password to download the file.
For each downloadable product there is a button labeled Send update on the edit product page.
When customers download the file, a notice is emailed to the shop administrator with the customers name and IP address.
